On Wednesday 20th March is erev Purim which commemorates a victory of those who sought to annihilate the Jewish people during the days of the Persian empire. The book of Esther tells the story.
Purim is an occasion when we celebrate God's protection of His people. The celebration is a fancy dress 'party' which will include a 'milchik' bring 'n share supper (milchik means no meat products at all).
We will start earlier than usual so that the kids can be back in bed at a suitable time.
