SIMCHAT TORAH - REJOICING IN THE TORAH
We will celebrate Simchat Torah on
Saturday 7th October 2023
Time: 18h00 – 21h00
Venue: DC Tamboerskloof,
Corner Kloof Nek Road and Upper Union Street
(Entrance and parking in Upper Union Street)
Our celebration will include reading the final portion in the book of Deuteronomy, rolling the Scroll back to the beginning, and commencing to read the new annual cycle in Genesis 1:1.
After this, we will dance around carrying the Sefer Torah in a procession. Kids are welcome. Our speaker is David Wood
The service will be followed by a bring ‘n share supper (“milchik” i.e. no meat or chicken products, please). Bring savoury foods including vegetable quiches, fried fish, fish cakes (no crab, lobster etc), Cheeses and crackers, vegetable sticks and dips, ready-made sandwiches (fillings: cheese, tuna, egg etc).
Please also bring juice to quench your thirst.
